Eligibility & Non Eligibility to contest society election.

Dear Experts,

I want to contest in my society's election for post of Secretary.

I have flat in this said society in which my wife name is first and my name is in second place, I have also rent out this flat for which society is charging me Non occupancy charge, but I have yet not submitted my leave and license agreement to society and have not even given them any written intimation as such.

Can the members raise any objections if I stand for the post of secretary on any of these grounds. and what is the eligibility for contesting elections. Respected experts please guide along with relevant sections.

You can verify the bylaws and election rules and provision in the act.
