My father had an HUF account in his name having movable property in Mumbai. He expired leaving behind myself, my mother and my married sister as coparcenors of the HUF. If I want to go for dissolution of HUF what among Deed of partition or Deed of Settlement would attract lower Stamp Duty and Registration Charges and how the same would be calculated in Mumbai.
Also is there a provision to get a letter of arrangement for change of Karta and what would be the procedure for the same.

Draw proper, conclusive ( legalily tenable) and full partition and register the family partition deed.
Your children can't partition again until HUF status is again acquired.
Inquire charges locally.
Change of karta is possible.
Normally eldest or senior most member acts as Karta. Other junior member can also act with due consent of other coparcenors.
