Discontinuance of "Certificate of Posting" by Dept of Posts

Dear All,

Dept. of posts has discontinued "Certificate of posting". This forum might take lead and get it revived as soon as is possible. The order that has discontinued this needs to be challenged and a stay order needs to be taken immediately. A regular PIL/apt case could be filed, active forum/s could then contribute its might in winning this case for good of society.

Can we think of legitimising email and treat it as equivalent of Certificate of posting to the extent that it is possible i.e. within limitations that it does pose?

'Certificate of Posting' had some inherent defects. But, today's Speed Post, Registered Post etc are too costly & cannot be afforded by people in distress.

There is ardent need to evolve low cost equivalent that sans the limitations in the former & is accepted in legal parlance.
