Difference of Divorce n Separation

I am a govt pensioner. My wife wants to separate due to I being away from home for 3 to 4 months for my rural india swadesi projects. Her lifestyle is city life while I am happy in rural areas. I want to know whether Divorce is better or desperation?

Separation is temporary. Divorce is permanent. In case you feel that you could never be together and/or you may like to marry a person of your own liking, you will have to take divorce.

Divorce will change marital status, separation is temporary

Thanks for reply. One more thing I want to know, will wife get maintenance after Divorce, if yes then how much.

Wife can claim maintenence whether it is separation or divorce. During separation it could be under Cr.P.C.

As a pensioner your biological instinct will diminish and you need emotional instinct so what is the requirement of divorce or seperation, unless you have other agenda? Either divorce or separation you need strong reason and grounds and in my opinion the Courts will weight on the reason and may be difficult as well?
