Decree in english

Hello Experts,

The court has issued the Divorce decree in Tamil (is that because the second motion affidavits were submitted in Tamil? Not sure.We were told that submitting in Tamil will fasten the decree process,). what are the ways to get it translated to English with the court seal?

1) By requesting the court to issue a fresh one in English? what is the process?

2) Since the decree is in Record Section, how can we move it back to court and get it translated? how long will they take to issue one?

2) The judge who passed the original order was transferred. Does that have any impact in the translated order issuance?

3) Get it translated by our means and get a Notary seal ? Will that work?

4) Any other ways that works?

1. All proceedings in the Supreme Court and in every High court are in English language as per the Constitution of India. However, the language to be used in lower courts hasn't been specified by the Constitution of India.

2. From your District Court Complex make a search for registered translators and seek their services to translate decree and final judgment of the case of parties. Get them (translated version) Notarised and use where ever needed untill specific requirement arise by Authorities.

3. One may approach the same Court under S. 151 CPC Applciation and make such request, but I hardly see it being done as Order of appointment of registered translators should come from District and Sessions Judge Court and in its absence the trial Court may show its inability.

4. One can seek True Certified Copy of the Decree and Judgment (which comes with Seal / Stamp / Signature of Certifying Agency of the District Court) in which ever 'language' format they are and then follow para 2 and these true Certified Copies are valid documents as per Law (except where its English translated true copy versions has to be supplied; such as in Embassies / High Court / Supreme Court etc.) .
