Respected members, kindly tell me that how important is it to get a decree from the court after signing divorce papers.

Ok,thank you for your reply, I want to know that its been five months i signed the divorce now my lawywer says that we both have to file an affidevit which would be the final one and after that we can have our decree, and it is imp to remain present for both. My husband did not tun up on given date...can he harrase me legally like this? what should i do?
