Credit card default

Hi,

I just wanted to check with you on a credit card that i supposedly used 6 to 8 years ago and i had defaulted on the same. The bank itself has closed its operations in India and quiet recently i got a call from another agency saying that they are calling from another bank after the loans have been transferred in regards to the outstanding amount due. In all honesty i still have no idea where i had used this and how. But they have not sent me any statements but just a document saying that this has been transferred and this is the amount due along with my credit card number. i had lost quite a few of my cards quite a while back. I wanted to check as to what are the legal ramifications as it has been over more than 3 years and is this even legal for them to do?

Apparently it is hopelessly time barred...................if there is no admission of debt.

Show whatever you have on record to your lawyer in person.
