Companies playing with employees imotion

Hi Team,

We are a bunch of employees working in ITES of a corportate. Recently the company was acquired by another company and as they couldn't transfer the employees, they asked us to resign from the company and offered us employment in another sales entity (of the acquired company).

Question - Is it valid to employ other service (which is not sales) in an entity which is originally created to be a sales & marketing related.

We had serious of questions in the new offer, which were asked to them, but we did not get any reply. Now they are saying we can terminate you if you do not accept the offer.

Our stance is very clear, they are just moving us from one entity to another and have decided to close the unit in few months.

Does this kind of layoff amounts to termination and is the company liable to pay the notice period pay?

We are not clear what to do, to accept the offer or to not accept as we are sure to stay only for few months.

Awaiting for Suggestion. Thanks
