Cheque payment stopped by other party

The other party owed me Rs. 50,000 and issued me a cheque. When I deposited cheque, the other party intentionally carried out a stop payment and said he does not have money and he cannot specify the date as to when he will make the payment ton me. I waited for 2.5 months and deposited the cheque once again before its expiry and again payment was stopped. Now I have to file my case under Section 138 and I have following queries :- I am myself a practising advocate, so can I issue the notice to them myself and represent my own case at court without appointing another advocate?? Please advice...

Yes. You can do it in the form of party in person status.
