dear team,
i have issued a cheque to one of my cutomers on date 5/05/2012 but the customer deposited the cheque on 4/05/2012 in UTI bank and it got bounced the same day from my bank and i was charged 300 for cheque bounce
is it leagal to bounce a cheque before the date beacause of this the customer got angry and i lost a huge business
how can i proceed here when i approached my bank they said sorry its our mistake we will refund the 300 but still i lost one good customer

how come its leagal i dont understand
i issued cheque on 5th only because i will be getting th fund on 4th and the same happened
the cheque got bounced on 4th 12 o clock and my amount got credited at 2o clock
thats why i issued cheque on 5th if it had bounced even at 12.01 am on 5th its ok but how come the cheque bounced 24hr earlier the date
