Buy agricultural land in Karnataka

Two of my friends and I have planned to buy 5 acres of land in Karnataka. We are non agriculturists and eachnof our income is less than 25 lakhs per annum. Can we do a joint registration of the land. What is the process to register the land. We are planning to use it for agricultural purposes only.
