Bpo 9 hours 6 days a week working hours with total 1 hour br

Hi,

My relative is working in MNC BPO banking process in Thane, Maharashtra. She has 1 hour break for lunch, tea breaks alongwith washroom. If one hour finishes they can not go for atleast washroom, their TL r seniros puts pressure on them or asks to finish total 9 hours even after official working hours, if they takes 15 mins extra for washroom. PLEASE GUIDE for this. I feel this will come under human rights too.

Also, guide on the rule for 9 hours daily with 6 days a week working days and rights and actions or complaints in MNC based organisation.

PLEASE HELP.

Thanks & Regards,

Approach labor court with the above allegations against the BPO and you may get the required relief.

If your friend is working in a private company, and if job is important to him, he is having the option either to compensate the loss of working hours by working extra time or fight against such practice while working wih the company.  A peaceful working atmosphere helps a peaceful over all living.  When getting a job is difficult, either to suffer minor inconvenience or make the conditions much worse by fighting with employer is left to the discretion of employee.

I work for MNC too Accenture... As per clients weekly required is 45 hours.. But we are asked to work for 50 hours ie, 10*5 days... Sat & Sunday is holiday. Depends on clients requirements & agreement , SLA people might be asked to stretch.. Our co compensate with some vouchers or compensation

The work hours are=8/day, 48./week.

Beyond which OT applies.

Break after 5 hours.

If breaks are stagerred before/after lunch also ;say 15 minutes then it is to make one comfortable and working convenient............

The employers are to provide clean toilets that seem to have been provided..........

So clock 8hrs/day.....

Go thru:

The Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948

https://mahakamgar.maharashtra.gov.in/images/pdf/the-bombay-shops-establishments-act-1948.pdf

and Certified Standing Orders of the establishment, if establishment is not exempted........

No one can stop/deny for a natural call, it is a bald statement. However, one hour lunch break is a luxury, which should not exceed to 30 minutes with 2 breaks intermittantly.

She (along with other employees) may discuss and challange the policy, if there is some truth in your story.

If so, switch over to some other company.

The employer might have pressed your TL.

Nature’s/natural call is such that is to be answered.

Why does it takes 15 minutes every time or many times everyday……….

TL might be viewing it as loss of work hours…..at workstation.

These are such  matters and can be resolved amicably or thru unions……….

Otherwise there is nothing wrong in working for 8hrs/day at workstation.
