I have a friend who is good guy and has great respect to girls. And when he was in his college days got a proposal from a girl.That time he didnt say neither yes nor no. but he maintained relationship with her as a friend. And she started telling her friends that he is her boyfriend. That was continued till end of college days. At one point of time he was also in love with her. Later after college days he was in complete dileama whether to marry her or not because of his interests and ideas are not in sync with her and he felts that this will not be good for long life journey. Then he was trying to convince her to leave him alone and marry some other guy who is suitable to her.
All this happend in entire 6 years of time span. in this time she rejected other marriage proposals brought by her parents.And he was care on her as she is very sensitive. Because of same reason he could not able to cut the relationship at some point and sent poisitve replies like "love her too".(reasons like she may attempt suicide and all).To put an end to this story himself brought this to her parents and to his parents.
Now she is stubborn to marry him and her parents also trying to make use of proofs (chat messages) to file a case on him and on his family. My friend is not at all interested to marry her.
Request you to give a suggestion how law works here. and what steps he should take to defence himself and his family.
