Bank franking, need advocate signature?

Hello-

I am going to renovate my flat next week. For that the society has asked to submit an "Affidavit cum Indemnity Bond" document on a Rs. 100 stamp paper (they said it's also ok if you get it franked at the bank).

The society gave me the format on plain paper, which I got it franked from a local co-operative bank for Rs. 100 (+ Rs. 10 as fees).

However I noticed, at the bottom of the bond, apart from the flat owners' signatures it also has a section that reads like this:

-------------------------------

Solemnly affirmed at Mumbai )

This ___________________ )

Identified by me

Advocate, High Court

-------------------------------

My question is, do I now need to also get this "franked bond document" approved / stamped by high court advocate?

Or is franking enough?

Thanks.

SIGNATURE OF ADVOCATE IS REQUIRED FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSE IN THE DOCUMENT "AFFIDAVIT CUM INDEMNITY BOND"

SIGNATURE IS NOT REQUIRED FOR FRANKING PURPOSE.

NOT NECESSITY OF HIGH COURT ADVOCATE, THERE IS NO SUCH CATEGORY... ANY ADVOCATE CAN PRACTICE IN HIGH COURT...

IT IS A FORMAT OF YOUR SOCIETY.. SO TAKE SIGNATURE OF ANY ADVOCATE...

Thank you Mahesh ji for the reply.

So I will have to get a stamp/signature from an advocate on this bond.

Just 2 more questions, if you can help further please.

I have already signed the document, will that be OK or is it required to be signed in front of the lawyer?

Any estimate how much they will charge?

No necessity to sign in front of advocate in your case.. It is just a formality to avoid further complication ... the society wants safety..

don't worry, advocate will not charge much... If I am there, i will not charge anything for identification.
