Back side property. Land owner giving very little space for

I have a query, my father purchased back side property in 1982 and since then we are living there. Recently owner's son constructed a wall and has left only 4 feet road for us to commute. Is it right? Can he do that? Kindly let me know what options do we have as it has become major inconvenience for us.
