I work in an IT firm where we are asked to stay for 10 hours in the office as per there rule. In that 10 hours, 1 hour is for lunch and rest 9 hours are to work. Recently I came to know that all the IT companies show to the government that they engage there employees just for 8 hours in the office but in reality its different. Could anyone please tell me whats the correct rule that IT firms should follow? Is there any rule or law that specifies the working hours of any employee in private sector specially in IT sector?
