Hello Forum Members, My mother purchased an agricultural land in Gujarat in 1985 while my paternal grand father had another agricultural land registered in his name in Gujarat. My grand father passed away in 1988. In 1985, all documents related to the property such as the 7/12, no. 6 , no. 8a and 8b were appropriately transferred in my mother's name.
My grand father's property was inherited by my cousin who later sold it off in the year 2000.
Since my father was residing out of India, he never got himself registered as a farmer. Since beginning of this year, neighboring farmers have started to threaten they will get the land acquired by the government as my mother cannot be a registered farmer through her father in Law.
Kindly share some light on this if the my mother's title as a farmer is legal?
