Absconding from bpo

Hi

I worked at barclays shared services which is a call centre for 40 days.

I left the job during the training period without informing.

Now i am getting letters from the company asking me to deposit the recovery amount otherwise they will take some legal action.

Is it possible that they can take legal action against me?

What is this recovery amount and why you need to pay it? Call centers are covered by (name of the state) Shops and Commercial Establishment Act and notice period /pay for 40 days length of service should be NIL. If you have sent resignation by ordinary post attach a copy and demand acceptance, service certificate, relieving letter, FnF statement,Payment of earnedwages ffor40 days,salary slip, PF number and a/c slip,Form16.... If you can't handle on your own take help from employees/trade union leaders, Labor Law Consultant/Service matters Lawyer, Inspector appointed under Payment of Wages Act, Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, o/o Labor Commissioner...
