If the Grand Father dies with out a Will then only his Legal Heirs i.e his wife, son (s), daughter (s ) will have the full Rights to inherit the property left behind by the Grand Father.

Which personal law applies in your case?
Are all involved HIndu?
The said property is agricultural land, rural, Urban, or it is a building?
Who was 1st owner of the said property (ies); Deceased Grandfather?
The nature of property is self earned/acquired, ancestral?

Other than only son (deceased) did he leave other surviving legal heirs e.g; Mother, wife, daughters?
The property is in which state?
Confirm!
Kumar Doab (Expert) 05 July 2018
If said son was sole surviving legal heir then his legal heirs shall inherit the estate.

The said granddaughters are daughters of son as in query?

First the Legal Rights of your grand father would be transferred to his Legal Heirs i.e Wife ( grand mothe)r and children in case of No Will written by grand father.
Guest (Expert) 06 July 2018

All members are Hindu.the property is about 100 yrs. old and is acquired by the govt.
All I am talking about compensation that will going to be given by the govt. It is a property of my grand father and my sisters were married and also dead now...The property is in Delhi. Does the children of my sisters have any right over the property? I think the children of my sisters have right on the property of their father only. Please correct me if I am wrong.
K Rajasekharan (Expert) 07 July 2018
If the proper is ancestral and the son is no more without any heirs, the children of the deceased daughters will definitely get shares of it.

They will get compensation if they prove by records that they are the legal heirs of the grandfather
