installation of CCTV cameras in stairs of building apartment

We live in DDA apartments in Delhi and in staircases residents have deployed CCTV cameras and some of them misuse to gather information about individuals going on upper floors.This is then discussed with neighbor and maids.Pl advise in apartments where there are floors for others to live how and where can cctv be installed from a security purposes.

Even the Police is suggesting to install CCTVs for protection. They have every right to install CCTVs in their houses. If they want to install CCTV in the common area, it should be done only by the Association not by any individual member.

Lodge complaint with the society / DDA if privacy of some occupant is effected due to CCTV.

1. How and why the CCTV camera(s) installed by RWA of the DDA flats in staircase i.e., common area of the flats for security purposes, is intruding your privacy?
