I am replying your querry based on Inam Abolition Act applicable in Gujarat hoping that the provisions will be similar. When the Act came into force, the Inams were abolished and Inamdars were paid compensation, however the lands which were in their personal cultivation were allowed to remain. However if there was no land in their possession, the Inamdar could have asked for personal cultivation from govt. waste land.If the person has certificate of Inamdar and wants to live solely on agriculture,he can ask for the land.
