Registration time limit

Dear Sirs, I have taken possession of my flat in Feb'2018. Registration is still pending and getting delayed. May please clarify the time frame for registration after registration along penalty provision, Please give reference also. Property is located in West Bengal.

You at you sweet will to get it registered.If you have paid full amount do'nt delay registration to safeguard from any evanchuality.

If the document is executed with date then it should be presented within 4 months of the date of execution. With a maximum penality 8 months. If not executed then no problem.

I am afraid the maximum period of 8 months has expired. The document may not be registrable now. Alternative is get a deed of confirmation of the agreement executed and registered. The agreement for sale in original should be annexed to the deed. The deed of confirmation should be executed by the vendor of the flat.

What is the problem in getting the document registration ?
You have to get it as soon as possible otherwise you are not owner/ titleholder of the flat.
Consult a local lawyer with relevant documents.
