what are the documents to be filed in a consumer case at district forum?

i.e alogn with the complaint ,is required to submit the orignal(receipts/documents etc) or only xerox copies? or self attested copies?

How many copies of complaints need be submitted?

1-File self attested Xerox copies of Receipts/Delivery Note /sale Letter / note showing the payment of the price of the goods- to establish that you purchased goods /Vehicle / availed services of the Trader .The Original can be filed if it is denied by Trader or Forum require the same . Self attested copies can be filed . All documents in Complainants custody to prove his case have to be filed .

2- File number of copies equal to number of Opposite parties in CD plus one extra copy

1.If you are holding Original Receipts/Documents, then it is better to file them along with complaiant.

2. you have to file sufficient no.of copies so as to serve on all the opposite parties. Addl.copies are also required to be filed for the sake of members of Consumer Forum including its Chairman.(3 Sets i.e., 2 members + chairman)

Three copies of the complaint. original receipts/ whatever documents you have in support of your complaint and legal notice copy.

You may submit the xerox copies along with 3(1+ 2 COPIES) sets and file . Normally the district forum will ask to do dasti notice in in which you have to do either hand delivery or send via speed post to the O.P ,depending upon the number of respondents
