Case u/s 307 ipc

ONE OF MY FRIEND AMIT WHO WAS TRIED TO KILL BY A SARDAR INDERJEET SINGH BY USING THE KRIPAN(A SMALL SWORD WHICH IS KEPT BY SARDARS) DURING THE ARGUMENT IN A TRAIN.

KRIPAN WAS STABBED IN THE STOMACH OF MY FRIEND, SARDAR INDERJEET SINGH WAS ARRESTED BY THE POLICE AND AMIT WAS SENT TO THE HOSPITAL.

POLICE HAS REGISTERED THE CASE U/S 307 OF IPC ACT.

ACCUSED IS STILL IN JAIL.

MY QUESTION IS THT MY FRIED(VICTIM) HAS TO APPOINT A LAWYER FOR HEARING OR NOT.

PLEASE ADVISE.

No need to worry ; now it is state case and it is the duty of government council to proceed the case! However if you want to appoint personnel lawyer then govt. Council will permit the lawyer and the lawyer will only assist the govt. Council

Being a state case Public Prosecutor will contest on behalf of state, however, if you engage a lawyer to assist PP it will benefit the case of victim.

Very well advised, though no need to engage a lawyer as the case would be looked after by Public Prosecutor but engaging a private lawyer would be better.
