Power of attorney for immovable property

Sir,
I have a property at Coimbatore and I am residing at chennai. I would like to give Power of Attorney to a person. My question is
1. Is it required to register the Power
2. If so can the power registration can be done at chennai?

Q.1.No need to register the Power of Attorney.If it is registered it will be better for both parties.
Q.2 Yes you can register it where you are living.

If you are wanting to grant the power to sell the property, then the same needs to be REGISTERED.

You have to register the said Power of Attorney in the office of the Sub-Registrar under whose jurisdiction the property is situated.
