Lost of my motor cycle.

My motor cycle was stolen from my residential parking area on 01.12.2011 from LIC residential Complex.Same was reported and application of F.I.R was submitted to the local police station (Chandrasekharpur,Bhubaneswar,Orissa)on the same date.But only a paper written acknowledgement signed by Sub-Inspector was given to me with no FIR no. was given by the PS.
Now please suggest me what can i do to get FIR register from that police station.Please also sugggest what else i can do to recover my motor cycle.

Ask the police to register FIR of theft, if they refuse, move court u/s 156(3).

W/o FIR and No Trace Report, you won't be able to get the insurance claim.

yes insurance company will refuse to make payment without copy of FIR . go by practical advise of shonee kappoor

Not only report by FIR to police but also their FR/CHARGE SHEET would be the requirement for insurance claim.
