domicile certificate

Sir,I have the attested copies of domicile certificate,but lost the original one!which is required at document verification time in admission process!
so please tell me whether i should apply newly for original domicile certificate or may i get original or new domicile certificate on attested copy base?

You can avail the duplicate copy or second copy from the same authority, chasing the record mentioned on the photocopy of certificate as- certificate no...../ year...., Serial No...., Regeister No. Date of issuance etc.
