Grand mom of one of my Delhi clients has left a will , duly signed and witnessed by 2 reliable people, but an unregistered one.

In order to execute the unregistered will, definitely you have to probate the Will

It all depends, provided the heirs are willing to honor the unregistered will. However, if any dispute is arisen even by a single heir, probate of will become quite necessary. To get the said will probated in favor the person in whose favor the will was signed, the said person will have to prove the said will by producing both the attesting witnesses to the will in the court.
