a divorce suit has been filed in mutual consent and after that whether the suit may be converted into contest suit or not .

No, if divorce by mutual consent petition fails a fresh petition has to be filled for contest divorce, no conversion business in courts.

No,mutual consent divorce petition can not be converted into a petition for divorce based on grounds ( cruelty,desertion...) as MCD petition is groundless petition and based upon consent of parties.
