Representation

(Querist) 11 March 2019 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
In criminal case, can I argue myself as petitioner along with my lawyer.
In trial court.
Thanks and Regards.
Suhail suhail (Expert) 11 March 2019
You can plead your own case, but if you have already a lawyer then he would be preferably heard; both of you cannot argue at the same time.
If you want to plead your won case then you should disengage the lawyer and bear the consequences.

Yes, you cannot be party-in-person if you have engaged an advocate to represent you.
