Dealing with Police Officer

(Querist) 13 August 2009 This query is : Resolved
Hello Friends,
I am law student and basically working as Software Engineer in top most industry of Gujarat.

As a part of curiosity, i would like to know that how to interact with Police Officer. as we all know that to normal public they always replied in rude manner (my personal experience). So i would like to know being a lawyer how should we communicate with them.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Rajesh

Please note that you are a law student. Not a lawyer. Your question is too premature. You will get to know yourself how to interact with a police officer after you become a lawyer.

At this moment, please concentrate on your legal studies and in your job alone.

Good luck for your future.

Basically we all dread Police because of the fear in our minds out of the image projected of some corrupt police personnel. How to communicate is normal like you do it with some other person. You should be well versed in the subject in which you deal, example you want to communicate with police, be pleasant and at the same time project that you are not ignorant about law or you are a novice, approach with a positive attitude and impress them and they will themselves know that you are not a nonesense person. Remember Knowledge is Power, you have knowledge you wield power. Be practical in all issues in life, too much idealism will kill you professionally.

Vishal has given u good reply.

one thing i must add the day u ll step into the profession the things will start coming to u automatically.

the circumstances around u ll teach u how to behave with police or client or senior or judge etc.

life is a learning process.

Nicely replied by Vishal and Kiran.

Police officer also servent of the people and he is not superior more than public. Police's first duty is suspect the fact, person and maintaing the law and order of the cruel society. So we have to co-operative nature with police officers.
Rajesh Rathod (Querist) 13 August 2009
I am certainly agree with you Mr. Kiran, as per my opinion we must be ready with feature situation. because sometime it happens that time don't give us a chance to learn something. so better preparation is the only way to come out from problems or do deal with situation.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Mr. Rajesh,
Mr. Vishal and Mr. Kiran both suggests u rightly. Either Police Officer or any person your way of talking must be pleasant. your body language, your action being a law student as well as Engg. profession should be very good and attractive. This starts from your home because if you behavior with your parents are good then your out side behavior will also be good. be a good listener first. In Hindi proverb: YE ZUBAAN PAN BHI KHILATA HAI AUR MAAR BHI KHILATA HAI. So you should never lost your self control over your tongue, language, action in any place before any person. Warm regards for ur future life.

Dear Rajesh,

As for seeking info, you can go for RTI application.
Normally, the police officers are adamant in not supplying info requested.
You can send them - by registered post, also send copy to the S.P. of the district too.
If anything, get to me at > sunnysarraf@gmail.com
best wishes.
Sunny.
