If the persons are Hindus then they can also register his marriage under Hindu Marriage Act. Your query is silent on the religion of both the bride and the groom. Further, it is possible to register it under the Special marriage act. There is no restriction.

sorry i dont find any remedy in High Court.

u can get marriage registered at ur place of marriage or where u r residing permanently.

pls apprise as Mr. Vishal what is the religion of boy and girl...its relevant, if both are Hindus then no need to apply under Spl Marriage Act.

Customary marriage is valid under Hindu marriage Act as well, provided custom is proved.

i agre with the above views,
if u r residing at the plae for last one month, you can apply fr registration under hindu marriage act.
also u can apply fr rgistration, if residing at the place for one month or over, under Spc. Mrrg Act but fr this u must follow the procedures prescribed under the Act vis noyice of one month and alike.
