Is it compulsory for the witnesses of a will to know each other? Any case law or provision?

how otherwise witness identify the executor ???
Unknown person may turn up for money, deny / don't turn up for evidence..
Known reliable person shd be witness..
Law is silent.

No it is not required that witnesses of will should know each other but they should know to testator and in their presence testator should have signed the will.

Hmm, I agree, that they should know the testator, as to who he is. Bur they need not know each other.

The very purpose of witnessing the testator is to agree to the fact that the testator has signed in his/their presence, which can be an unknown as well.
However, it is always better to get the testament witnessed by family member/ relative.

It is pertinent that the witnesses know the testator and vice versa, however, it is not a criteria that the witnesses should know each other.
