What is repealing & amendment act no-19 of 1988?

Dear Sir
As per P.N Katara (Sr.Advocate of Supreme Court)Section 498A of IPC, inserted in Chapter XXA of the IPC after the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1983, on December 25, 1983, vide Act No. 46 of 1983, was repealed “as the whole” by the Repealing and Amending Act, No. 19 of 1988, on March 31, 1988. As such, it cannot be treated as law.
Please explain about above law & if any material related to Repealing & Amendment Act No-19,Please arrange.

Academic query, state material facts of the problem if any.

It is not a acadmic query.
The main fact is my wife has done the case on me & my others family members under Cr.p.c 498a (3/4)/341/504/506 at two times.
Case is running under trial in Rohtas court-Bihar (i) Case No-330/2012-C.P Case (ii) Case No-30/2013-Gr.Case. Both cases are in same court & looking by same S.D.J.M-Dehri (Bihar).
In Gr.Case is trial under also Cr.p.c-498A(3/4)/186. I have filed the discharge petition in S.D.J.M Court & Last 4 years we are not living togather & she has done the both cases from Maike (Naihar).
During hearing -A.P.O of dehri court told there are sufficient material for run the Gr. case 30/2013 under 498A (3/4)/186 Section.
Recently 6 August,2014 (per As Telegraph) Supreme court Advocate P.N Katara was filed the petition in Justice H.L Dattu ,Justice J.C Ghose & J.Arun Mishra court -
Ravindra Vs U.P Police & others-
The petitioner has alleged that the provision is being misused by his wife, whom he has accused of adultery and of extorting Rs 11 lakh from him with threats of false complaints of harassment.
The couple were married on February 24, 2012, in Mathura district according to Hindu customs and rites. The wife filed the case under Section 498A on January 18, 2013, following which Ravi and his family members were arrested. They are now out on bail.
According to the petitioner, Section 498A of IPC, inserted in Chapter XXA of the IPC after the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1983, on December 25, 1983, vide Act No. 46 of 1983, was repealed “as the whole” by the Repealing and Amending Act, No. 19 of 1988, on March 31, 1988. As such, it cannot be treated as law."
Kindly request to you that If any judgment order passed during hearing by Apex court on above case, please share.
Note:-Mr. Madhu please send the copy of repealing & amendment act No-19 of 1988, So that I can read & understand the our law very closely.

Mr. Lalit Kumar your information is wrong. Sec 498A is not repelled the way you are stating .
Sorry too tired to give explanation today.
I myself checked both acts you mentioned personally and have concluded it.
