Vo claiming my property has been claimed by the earlier owners

(Querist) 24 April 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hello Sir,

I have all the documents in my name yet VO claims the owner of the property has take legal rights by winning the case. When i repeatedly asked he, he has promised to give me the judgement copy or the case number but he has been dodging for few months. I even met the Dasildhar, who called the VO and asked him to provide the necessary support yet all in vain. Surveyors also have no clue on he case. Can i send them a legal notice in this regard to reply with judgement copy or allow me to sell my property?

Are you in possession/occupation? Anyhow, you can seek the relevant information under RTI Act?

who is this VO?

Incomplete information with some local abbreviations/words, consult a local lawyer.

VO is Village OFFICIER, who will only know the entire details about the property like legal or on-going legal cases. This VO, is stopping me from selling with no proof to support his claim with a Case nbr or Judgement copy.

Mr. Robinsom, you are not clear in your query, as to what actually is your legal problem?

In what way the VO is concerned in selling property by you and buying by the prospective buyer? Has he issued you any notice, or you are required to take his written NOC before selling?
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 02 May 2015
Dear Author: The VAO has got nothing to do with the selling of the property neither he is required to give NOC. You say you have he title documents in your possession, what prevents you from going ahead. If the buyer is insisting on NOC from VAO, you can change the buyer. The VAO's are under the direct control of the RIs (Revenue Inspector), you can approach him, again the RIs are under the control of Tahsildar, you can approach the Tahsildar for remedy with an application. Without knowing the case number or the case itself, you cannot approach the authority with a RTI act application to get the details.
