Verification

(Querist) 24 November 2014 This query is : Resolved
In govt jobs they have a police verification in which they ask for the past 5 years residence address and present address. Then a letter is sent out to each address for police records against candidate. Question is that do they have a residence check at the previous address? Do they contact neighbours of previous address and ask them about you? If they say something adverse about the candidates character will it affect police verification? Thank you in advance :)

Shun your worries, as police don't try to verify from any tom, dick or harry in the neighbourhood. They try to contact some sensible, literate, prominent person of the area to make verification in employment cases. If someone speaks adverse, they try to verify from some more persons of the areas to arrive at their final findings before preparing a report for the concerned department.
