Transfer of property by will

(Querist) 25 July 2014 This query is : Resolved 
Dear Sir,
My grandfather had a house at our native place which he gave it to my father through a registered will.Now how can we transfer the titles of the house in the name of my father.
Will there be some property tax or ant other expenses to get it transferred.
Please suggest

If self acqired n will expected approach tshasildar office with will if land or hsg SOC if flat.

make application to local tehsildar . enclose death certificate of your father . also copy of will made by your grand father . notice will be issued to all legal heirs . if no objection is received property would be transferred in your father name

The property is already devolved upon your father by operation of law of inheritance.
You need to only mutate his name in the register of the Municipality.
