Train late

(Querist) 23 May 2015 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

On 20th May I was travelling from New Cooch Behar to Anand Vihar Terminus by North East Express (NE12505 dn). As per schedule printed on the ticket it was 14:47 (dep. from boarding station on 20th May and 19:20 arrival on 21st May at Anand Vihar Terminus), but the train was late at its destination, i.e., Anand Vihar Terminus by almost 4 hrs. The train arrived at the said destination around 23:10 hrs.

We the passengers on board of the train suffered a lot. Is there any legal option which can be taken against Indian Railways?

Thanks,
R Barman

go to the consumer court.

Simply forget. They have 101 reasons to quote for the delay. It is waste of your time and money.

you had the option not to travel and get full refund when the train is so late. However, having decided to travel you cannot seek any further remedy.

The Railway shall quote its reasons to justify helplessness and delay.

It is your call to agitate.

Unfit query.
Did you lodge complaint before the railway authorities?
Consult and engage a lawyer in Delhi for further advise and proceeding in a professional manner for deficiency of service of the Indian Railways.

Its literally no use to file case, but can file before Consumer forum but before seek necessary reply from Central Railways designated authority in written and cross check your ticket terms and conditions which makes the commuters to abide those rules once you purchase the ticket.

You could have registered your grievances in the complaint book available with the station master then and there itself and would have left your mobile number to know about the reason or action taken if the delay was due to some individual. Now you have lost the chances.

There would be practically no use to file case.
