Illiterate person can put thumb impression in place of signature on the document.
Hemant Agarwal (Expert) 16 February 2018
1. Legally "ANYBODY" may put EITHER the physical signature .OR. the thumb impression, irrespective of whether the person is educated or illiterate.

2. EVEN an illiterate can affix his Signature, for all legitimate purposes.

If you are seeking "some" obligation from experts on this platform you will have to disclose your identity as per rules, no reply for "anonymous" author. Otherwise, consult a local lawyer.
