What is the difference between lawyer, Advocate, Barristor & Solicitor.

If these are same meaning then when these words are used for any particular purpose.

Earlier Mr. Aravind Jain answered the same as

Advocate as per advocate act.
Lawyer- practising advocate.
barrister- Bar-at Law in U.k
Counsel- Advocate, lawyers are counsel.
Attorney- who plead cases in court in U.K
Pleader- who pleads in courts.

Advocate- one who regiter his/her name of the roll maintained by the state bar council undr advocates act 1961.

Lawyer- one who finishes his/her law degree can be called as lawyer.

barrister- bar-at-law of uk which is not relavant to india now.

counsel- one who appears on the vakalathnama filed by another advocate.

Pleader- one who pleads on behalf of his client in the court of law. eg govt.advocate in civil case known as pleader. in criminal case publice prosecutor.
