I need to khw whether my company comes under the purview of any act relating to Weigts and Measure??? While Studying on internet I got various enactments,Metrology etc. So I need to knw that currently which act is applicable for manufacturing company in kolkata.

Dear Ms.Priya
Package Commodities Rules 1977 were made under section 83 of the Standards weight and measures Act 1976 and hence both are part of the same legislation.
For your information the above SWM Act has with effect from 01.04.2011 , been replaced with Legal Metrology Act 2009 and a new set of Rules viz. Legal Metrology (Package Commodities) Rules 2011 have now come into force.

Dear Sirs Humbly,I knw my company can easily afford a lawyer but before approaching to them I would like to knw that whether my company comes under the Purview of that Act or Not...and being a professional student I would also like study a bit about it.There is no question of charity arises here.Its nothing like I m going to trouble my company on a legal issues which I jst have a academic knwledge.Actually, I was confused because the Legal Metrology Act refers to a term Weights & Measures.I dont knw what is that word stands for...weights and measure equipment or the product manufactured by a Company.
Its really sorry to here such words from a senior and Knwledgeable persons like you.

Yes Sir, I appreciate those experts who bother or in ur word wastes their time for my queries... in fact i really appreciated their efforts.
Further this is a open forum and if u really think that u dnt need to answr any of the queries u can simply skip....no need to use such harsh words like charity and all....no one in this world is on charity of any other ...everyone has his own skills & destiny.

1) I dont knw abt ur stands...so please show me...if there is any I ll apologize...genuinely...because actually i dont knw abt it...might be in older posts...
2) Secondly what type of query are u all in interested in...is it acadamic because as u said a we avoid ACADEMIC QUERY. in experts' site or corporate because as u said corporate can afford legal fees...
3) Its my fault that I posted it in experts instead of students or forum corner I accept because I needed a help from any of the expert While I come to the site there is a option to ask a query nowhere its mentioned academic or corporate or this or that but its really ironic that you have time for this harsh comments bt not for the answers
4) And do u think that the query raised on this site requires to be personal for answering it,
