"her husband himself is not fit for married life n behaves like psycho."

Try to have amicable settlement.

Practically at initial stage, they may not agree, in such case cases of domestic violence, dowry demand may have to be lodged.

Possibilities of divorce is your main question. In the given facts, mutual consent divorce shall be the best option as both are young and may settle their further life without wasting much time so it should be tried failing which file petition under section 13(i) Ia) of HMA.

For return of Istridhna, police complaint is required to be lodged.

Psychopaths never change. IT CAN NEITHER TREATED BY MEDICINES NOR THESE PEOPLE CAN BE REFORMED AS THEY ARE LACKING IN conscience. They ARE VERY CRUEL AND VIOLENT. It's BETTER YOU PART WAYS.You can get stridhan, Dowry etc as per law in addition to maintenance etc..

She can seek divorce, if unable to adjust herslf in that her matrimonial house.

If merely interestd in stree dhan that is surely the property of your cousin that can be claimed without any hitch even without going to police station. However, they may hesitate to give that back without divorce.

Usha ji,

Your observation about quite an unknown person seems to be quite unwarranted, as you have assumed him with certainty to be a hardened psycho, merely on the basis of a bit of refernce by the querist, whereas he has not quoted instances of his unworthy acts.

Experts should avoid using hard language either for the authors or with each other as it gives a bad name as well as creates unhealthy atmosphere. A layman when raises his query, he may leave many required particulars which a lawman shall ever submit but being law experts, we are expected to read between the lines and should try to attend him and should provide best possible advice may it go in his favour or against him.

While giving legal advice, we should try to confine on legal lines.

This is just my humble prayer which should not be taken otherwise.
