Stamp duty for a gift

(Querist) 07 April 2018 This query is : Resolved
What would be the stamp duty and registration charges, in Maharashtra, when a father wants to gift his property to his son? Senior Citizen
Kumar Doab (Expert) 07 April 2018
Local counsels e.g; Mr. Hemant Agarwal can help you the best as they keep track of latest amendments/notifications ..
Sri Vijayan.A (Expert) 07 April 2018
Write a settlement deed, not a gift deed.
Gift deed attracts more stamp duty and registration fee.
The settlement deed to son due to natural love and affection has least expenditure.
