Domicile Certificate can be made only in one State/UT. Obtaining Domicile Certificate from more than one State/UT is an offence.

What about the paternity of your son? What about the status of the father of your son?

Generally the domicile of father prevails but in exceptional circumstances, it is permissible even of mother.

I will be leaving bangalore by jun17, and where i be transfer i dont know. same way my husband will be transfer from kanpur by end of 2017. We dont have clarity of state from which i can apply for state quota seat.
P. Venu (Expert) 29 September 2016
Generally, all the States makes special provisions for children of Central Government employees. No domocile certificate is insisted in such a case. Such children are eligible to apply for Entrance Examinations for professional courses in the State(s) where their parent(s) are posted at the time of applying for the Exam as well in the States to which their parent(s) belong. It is your choice.
Kumar Doab (Expert) 29 September 2016
Usually the state that issues such certificate may have conditions e.g; stay of last 5 years.

AS explained by Expert Mr. Venu, speak to authority conducting the exams and clarify.

In the given situation, he does not seem to qualify for Gujrat domicile.
Rekha (Querist) 29 September 2016
Mr P Venu Thanks for reply. Is there is any restriction in any state that only domicile of father is taken into consideration not mother.
Mr Goyal can you please elaborate the reason for not qualifying for Gujarat state.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 30 September 2016
each state has different rules.
P. Venu (Expert) 30 September 2016
Domicile Certificate is never insisted for wards of Central Government servants, especially those who are liable for posted anywhere India, for seeking appearing in Common Entrance Examination for admission to professional courses.

More than any expertise, the suggestion is based on personal experience. My daughter had appeared for such examinations in Maharashtra and Kerala and my son, in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala. Kerala is our Home State.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 30 September 2016
As there are many benefits attached with the domicile of a person especially for the admission quata which is also the present matter.

The domicile of UP shall prevail in your case.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 30 September 2016
