When a defendant is reluctant to cross examine the plaintiff or his witnesses despite several opportunities availed, the plaintiff should move an application praying the court to close defendant's right to cross fixing date for evidence of defendant it self.

Either your lawyer is quite ineffective or his integrity is doubtful.

The court (generally) do not grant more than 3 opportunities to proceed/ cross-examine, that too reasons to be recorded. If granted, ask your lawyer to emphasis upon the court to close the cross-examination by mentioning "Opportunity given NIL". This will be read in evidence.
