Sir,
I have purchased home amounting to Rs. 20 lacs in punjab and the concerned Punjab Tehsil office said that you have to pay 6% revenue fee for man and extra 2% fund above 20 lacs means 40,000/- and they said they will provide receipt for it. I do not know what is the payment of 2% in tehsil office imposed on me.

Please intimate. me.

If they say it is tax or any fees then ask for receipt.

If receipt for 2% fee is officially given by tehsil office than it will be mentioning for what it is being charged. If agent is issuing that receipt, it means is part of bribe being paid in tehsil office and share of the agent getting the process done in tehsil office.

I think "Where the value or consideration of sale exceeds Rs, 900 but does not exceed Rs. 1,000, the stamp duty is Sixty rupees and for every Rs. 500 or part thereof in excess of Rs. 1,000, thirty rupees for sale of immovable properties" and registration fees is a minimum of Rs50/- and a maximum of Rs.10,000/-.
