Pre-admission status_writ petition on contempt matter

(Querist) 19 June 2017 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I have filed a writ petition through my advocate on a contempt matter in the bombay high court in oct 2016 which has not come up yet for admission and is under status 'pre-admission'.

I have supplied every document & details of the judgement to my Advocate for the enforcement of which the WP is filed but on asking he always says that 'date is not yet given by the court'.

Why this status is there for so long?
Do I need to provide any further document or details to get the hearing date?
Is my advocate giving me right answer about the case status?

Please help as I have been suffering alot due to this prolonged litigation.

Thanks,
Vansh Malhotra

contact registry of high court to know exact status of WP.

It appears that your advocate is less than professional.

Agree with the expert RK Nanda.

I respectfully differ with expert Mr. R K Nanda, registry has nothing to do with "status" of the writ.

The petitioner has to inspect the file to know actual status, which is maintained by dealing assistant headed by Registrar (Records).

The author/petitioner is stated to have filed writ in a contempt case, both the statements are contradictory and unbelievable since no writ is maintainable in a contempt case.

Besides this, any writ is admitted/rejected straight away after its scrutiny by registry and it is unbelievable that the writ is in pre-admission. Probably notice has been issued to respondent(s) for filing counter-affidavit (which may have been termed as pre-admission).

Change your lawyer immediately if your statement is true.

Thanks all the experts for your valuable resolution to my query. I have been pushing my advocate to get the matter listed for admission after your advice. Thanks again.
