This query is : Resolved
I work in Government Undertaking. Last year I was transferred to another division in office. It was an inter division transfer. Recently I received an order from my earlier division stating that I need to complete my pending work which was left upon my transfer along with my present duties. Moreover to complete this extra work I need to visit saturday sunday. It is also mentioned that my organization does not have any transfer & posting policy. Transfer are done on need basis.
My query is does this sort of orders backed by any rulings etc. Does any employee need to complete a task even after he/she got transferred. Please advice.

Not a legal problem. It is just an administrative problem.
However, if pendency pertains to your tenure, you can be asked to clear that at whatever time suits you or the management. No rulings provides any immuniity to an employee to keep the work pending merely on the plea of having been transferred from his previous division to another division in the same office.
If you prefer not to carry out orders of the authorities that can invite disciplinary action against you not only for keeping work pending, but also for not obeying the orders.
You may however request the authorities to issue formal orders and supply through the head of the present division, so that he may not remain in dark about requirement of your services in your previous division in addition to your job requirements in the present division.
