Pagri flat

(Querist) 28 November 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hi,
My father has a flat on pagri rent in Delhi. We live in this house and pay the rent.
The landlord expired and now there is a property dispute amongst his heirs. We now deposit the rent in the court.
My question is, if I buy a new house in my name and we all move in to that house while my father continue paying the rent for the flat on pagri,Can we continue to maintain possession of the flat?
Also, what would be the tenancy rights of my father's heirs?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Your father can continue stay. But he has no right to keep it vacant against the wishes of the owner of the property.

Your father can continue to pay and reside.

Hi,

Thank you for the response.

The residential flat has an office attached. So, this is office-cum residence. If we continue using the office and start living in another property nearby, can this pose a legal trouble for us as we want to retain possession of office-cum residence??

Thanks for your help!
