Nomination

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 21 August 2018 This query is : Resolved
Whether my domestic help (not having blood relations) can be nominated for my insurance policy so as to get the accrued benefits after my demise? My other legal heirs viz my wife and two daughters have already been nominated in other insurance policies.
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 22 August 2018
Why did you develop so much affection with "domestic help" while your wife and children/daughters are available?
Guest (Expert) 22 August 2018
You seem to be quite a generous fellow and believe in guptdaan, as like yourself also remaining anonymous!

If you are so generous towards your domestic servant, why not open an FD in her name to help her make use of the proceeds without any hassle, rather than making her face uncalled for legal tangle with your own legal heirs for claiming the proceeds of your insurance policy? Give her direct benefit of your generousness, rather than creating a troubled way for her after your death.

Thanks a lot, Mr. Dhingra for your nice suggestion which was beautifully articulated in a well dignified manner unlike one Dr.Vadista who instead of offering his professional reply, rather ridiculously questioned the affection towards my domestic help when my spouse/children are available. A pity that he is used to see the darker side of any positive and noble gesture and cause. Thank you again, Mr Dhingra though I prefer to ignore the redundant comments of the other.
